North Area Transfer Station

This project for the Solid Waste Management Division is a support facility for the North Area Collection operation. It includes employee and visitor parking, waste management truck parking, fuel islands, underground fuel tanks, a truck wash and an administration building.

The 8,500 square foot administration building accommodates the Waste Management supervisors, dispatchers and collection drivers. It includes offices, meeting rooms, locker rooms, an assembly room and an outdoor patio. Materials and systems were designed to provide a durable and low maintenance facility. In addition to supporting the Solid Waste recycle program, many of the products specified utilize recycled materials. A whimsical touch is the half-buried trashcan sculpture at the front entrance.
