Coyote Ridge Elementary School

Coyote Ridge Elementary School represents the evolution and continuing development of facilities in the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District. This K-5 campus is a third generation site adaptation for the District.

This project presented SKW with the challenge of grouping a set of three classrooms around a central staff work area, while maintaining a central space for small group study. SKW responded with a plan to allow each grade level to have access to workrooms and to small group areas. In order to utilize the benefit of natural light, the building design provides a skylight in each classroom. Moderated by sensor-controlled louvers, the skylights open and close to fill the classrooms with daylight and reduce the electrical lighting load.

An adjacent park is shared with the City of Roseville through a joint-use agreement.
