Ronald E. McNair High School

Stockton, CA
Lodi Unified School District
When completed, the Ronald E. McNair High School campus will serve both the Lodi Unified School District and the City of Stockton through an extensive joint-use agreement. This agreement allows for community use of the swimming pool and athletic facilities, as well as the inclusion of a community center within the physical education complex. Additionally, the overall site includes a city park that features a softball complex and sports fields, which will decrease the school's overall field needs.

Through thoughtful design and the incorporation of natural lighting, this campus has exceeded the California Title 24 requirements for energy efficiency by as much as 26 percent. These reductions in energy consumption have resulted in the single largest award ever granted under the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) by the State of California and a substantial award from PG&E through the Savings by Design program. The financial benefits of this design approach will continue throughout the life of this school due to a substantial reduction in operational expenses.
