Sacramento Region

Ideally located two hours from world-class snow-capped ski resorts of the Sierras on the east and only one hour from the Pacific Rim's premier port city of San Francisco on the west, Sacramento is the hub of the California experience.

A population of 400,000 in the city and 1.7 million in the metropolitan area enjoys a Mediterranean climate of summer sunshine and refreshing rain in winter. Sacramento International Airport connects the area with all major airlines and access to the world.

The full cultural spectrum can be found in the area, from professional ballet and opera to theaters, galleries and museums. At the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers, the Port of Sacramento opens into a city of gourmet dining opportunities, including on board the Sacramento River's Delta King Riverboat. Professional sports teams and arenas as well as top musical venues abound, especially during the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee and numerous and diverse festivals.

Water recreation galore includes salmon and steelhead fishing, river rafting, boating and yachting on 1,000 miles of waterways and two major lakes in the area. Golfers choose from 540 acres of courses, and families have more than 120 parks or more than 2,000 acres to enjoy.
