At the outset of the legal process, Kaiser was required to prepare exhaustive accessibility surveys of all their buildings. Each individual barrier was identified with a unique number and photographs to illustrate the non-compliant condition. The legal process also required Kaiser to demonstrate compliant remediation of every barrier through photographic documentation.
The SKW team prepared detailed phased work plans and tracked all information in a database system.
This project included facilities assessments and ADA remediation at multiple hospital and medical office buildings at Kaiser Permanente’s South Sacramento Medical Center. The scope of work includes visual investigations and observations of each facility, as well as schematic design and construction documents for the removal of approximately 1,750 barriers in five buildings including surrounding site barriers.
